Free Night of Theater

Portland's Free Night of Theater: Our Second Year

-- Wondering why so many people you meet just don't go to see theatre? --

-- Surprised by how many people have never heard of your company? --

-- Tired of explaining that it's LIVE theatre, not movies? --

This is your big chance to do something about it!

Free Night of Theater 2009 is here, and 22 companies around the Portland area are setting aside seats to be given away, for free, to folks who don't yet know how funny, moving and thought-provoking a night at the theatre can be.

How can you help, you ask?

Two things:

  1. Engage your social networks. Facebook and Tweet all of the folks you know about the program. Email me to get some fliers to drop off in the break room at work, or at your dentist's office. Mention it to your neighbor or bartender.

  2. Save the tickets for the new audiences. We all have ways to get in to see a show for free - ushering, helping out with postering, calling in that favor from the time you let someone's dog out to pee during a long tech rehearsal - plus we already know how great theatre is. Save these spots for the *new* audience members, who'll go back and buy another ticket, or maybe become a subscriber! Wouldn't that be great?

Thanks!
Jen
